Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence has already inaugurated a 25- man National planning committee in readiness to mark the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day scheduled for 15th January 2019.
Nuratu Batagarawa, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defence during the grand inauguration of the committee retirated the essence of the occasion which is geared towards honouring Nigeria’s military might and commitment to humanity.
Batagarawa said all servicemen and women were also being honoured for their roles in ensuring National, regional and global peace and security. She also hailed those officers and families suffering one form deformity or the other due to their participation in war and internal operations.
Nuratu rounded up by pleading with the 25 man committee to give Nigeria, the military our fallen and living heros and heroines a grand 2019 edition by pulling out all stops to organise a memorable 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance day.
Maj-Gen. Edmund Ben chairman of the committee responded to the mandate by revealing that the 2019 edition was going to be youths and children focused in order to instill the spirit of patriotism, love for country and neighborhood.
The 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day will be very strategic and instructive being in an election year.
