The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, will be organising a two day workshop on how to run a gemstones business, as part of its contributions to ongoing efforts to diversify economic activities in Nigeria.
The training will hold from August 29 – 30, 2018 at Commerce House, Idowu Taylor, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Gemstones are one of Nigeria’s largely untapped natural endowments with an annual market potential of an estimated $3billion. Many more Nigerians can, with requisite training, participate in this unfolding business niche.
The workshop would therefore draw from a pool of indigenous professionals in the geosciences who are also entrepreneur who understand the value chains in the industry to give practical training to would-be investors on how they can start and run thriving gemstones businesses in Nigeria.
Participants will also be exposed to the types of gemstones available in Nigeria, how to identify them, where to source and sell them. It will also include introductory training on how to add value to rough gemstones through cutting and polishing.
The organisers say they have limited space and training materials so interested participants should register as soon as possible to enable proper planning. Please call Gbemisola on 0802.835.8125 e.mail, firstname.lastname@example.org or
