The National Population Commission, NPC has reiterated its commitment to conduct the nation’s first digital census, which he said will meet international standards and provide evidence-based data for national planning and sustainable development.
Chairman of the commission, Mallam Nasir Isa Kwara, gave this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola in Abuja.
The chairman explained that the visit was to discuss possible areas of collaboration and support, especially the housing component of the exercise.
He added that the Commission’s Enumeration Area Demarcation (EAD) data contained all information on buildings and their geo-coordinates which the Ministry and its agencies will find useful for development and planning purposes.
It would be recalled that President Buhari had postponed the population and housing census earlier scheduled for May 3-7 to a date to be determined by the incoming administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
