In 2015, in collaboration with Global Rights Nigeria we amplified #SaveShikira using testimonies during our outreach from rural Shikira in Rafi Local government area in Niger state via various social/traditional media platform in getting government to come to the aid of this rural community ravaged by lead poison that had killed 28 children. After our intensified efforts, see actions real time on ground in rural Shikira in a video as reported by We hope that this would inform policy and decision making in providing basic amenities (school & healthcare) while ensuring effective mining regulations for small scale miners in villages for the sake of vulnerable children and a healthy environment.
