WaterAid is an international non-governmental organization established in 1981 with focus exclusively on improving poor people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation (WASH) in developing countries. We believe that water and sanitation are human rights. These essential services are vital health, education and livelihoods; and form the first essential step in overcoming poverty.

WaterAid started its operation in Nigeria in 1995. Since then it has successfully executed several intervention programme as outline by it aims and has made impact in the lives of the very poor. Today WaterAid with the country office in Abuja works in six states in Nigeria namely Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Jigawa, Enugu and Ekiti and has built strong partnerships for the successful delivery of its programme. These include partnerships with civil society organizations and local governments.

WaterAid Nigeria is seeking to engage a qualified Audit firm to serve as its external auditor and hereby invites qualified firms to apply for pre-qualification. Firms shortlisted from the pre-qualification stage shall proceed to the next stage of the procurement process. The successful firm shall be engaged on an annual contract which shall be renewable at the end of each year based on performance.

Interested firms are required to submit a technical and financial proposal that should include the following information:
(a) Detailed company profile providing information on office location, including staff strength and details of directors of the company
(b) Certificate of Incorporation as a company in Nigeria issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
(c) Documentary evidence describing similar assignments with verifiable proof, including years of experience
(d) Evidence of financial capability

Two copies of the documents should be in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Audit Pre-qualification Documents” written at the top right hand side of the envelope and submitted to:

The sealed envelope should be submitted at the above address not later than 12noon on 8th January, 2015. Late submission will not be accepted.

Please note:
(i) WaterAid reserves the right to reject any or all the submissions which do not meet the requirements as specified
(ii) The evaluation of the received documents shall be strictly based on the requirements as specified above
(iii) Please note that only qualified companies shall be notified at the end of the exercise.
