As 2015 General Election approaches this February, International Republican Institute (IRI) will be collaborating with WaterAid and members of Youth WASH (Water Hygiene and Sanitation) Initiative Africa on a Vote4WASH Campaign. The core of the activity is bringing members of political parties to a forum to discuss their manifestos and how they plan to achieve the United Nations objective on Water Hygiene and Sanitation.
IRI is a reputable organisation that has work in several countries around of the world and has been in Nigeria since 1999 supporting the development of political parties, civic institutions, open elections and democratic governance. This we continue to do through support programs that promote political party and candidate development, civic education, women and youth leadership development, electoral reform and election monitoring.
The goal of this event is to further engage and support citizens and political parties in developing policies on water, sanitation and health. This event will help your political party in understanding the challenges that some Nigerians face in getting access to clean water and proper sanitation. In addition, this event will help citizens and advocates in their efforts to engage key political parties on these very important issues.
Therefore we would like to invite your party to send representatives who will interact with members from WaterAid and WASH and explain how your manifesto addresses these very important issues. We will also provide for a questioning and answering section for participants to interact with your representative.
