ONE campaign in Nigeria has celebrated the advocacy milestone of #MakeNaijaStronger, an advocacy campaign geared towards the provision of adequate and improved healthcare service delivery particularly for the marginalised communities, women and children in Nigeria.
The event which took place in Abuja yesterday had major influencers, dignitaries such as the wife of the Nigeria’s Senate President, Toyin Saraki as well as other policymakers within the health sector.
According to Serah Mekah, Country Director ONE in Nigeria, “It’s exciting to know this advocacy campaign yielded results and that we now have a country where one percent of the consolidated funds will now be earmarked for basic healthcare provision”.
She added that 10 percent of these funds will also be dedicated to build the capacity, train and re-train the primary health workers across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
