Lagos is about to witness a high-octane convergence of grit and greatness as Emiralty Africa prepares to host its flagship summit, Emiralty Connect 1.0, at the prestigious Radisson Blu, Ikeja.

Scheduled for May 14, the conference is themed ‘From Scar to Shine: Reflections on Struggles, Breakthrough and Impacts’, and is designed to pull back the curtain on what it truly takes to move from ground zero to industry dominance. Forget the glossy finished products; this summit is diving deep into the “Three S” framework: the Scar (the struggle), the Spark (the breakthrough), and the Shine (the legacy).

The event is set to pull out the big guns across business, governance, and the arts, with a keynote address by Otunba Kazeem Olayemi Odeyeyiwa, the Chairman and CEO of Repton Group, and a featured session with Guest Speaker Amb. Dr. Prevail Farida Ahmed.

To keep the energy at fever pitch and ensure a blend of professional depth and engaging delivery, the charismatic duo of star actor Adeniyi Johnson and the witty Abegunde Olamilekan, popularly known as Dr. Smile, will host the day’s proceedings.

Central to the summit’s mission is the exploration of the media’s indispensable role in scaling personal narratives into public legacies. Of particular interest to the entertainment world is the Creative Industry Panel, titled “Turning Passion into Power,” which will see INDEPENDENT Newspapers’ Life Editor, Tomi Falade, taking a deep dive into the mechanics of visibility and the media spotlight. She will be joined by a roster of phenomenal personalities, including Femi Adebayo, Mercy Aigbe, Bukky Wright, and Libra TV CEO Olalekan Wasiudeen, as they analyse how to navigate the booming Nigerian entertainment landscape.

The day’s intellectual heavy lifting continues with two other powerhouse sessions. A business-focused panel moderated by Lanre Basamta will feature leaders like Alhaji Ahmad Lawal, Dr. Amb. Funke Kehinde, Chief Adaralegbe Akintayo, and Otunba Adegboyega Shuaib Ajala discussing the “Media Advantage” in scaling from startup struggles to market authority.

Simultaneously, a governance panel moderated by Moji Delano will bring together the likes of Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Hon. Dr. Olamide Junaid, and Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo to examine the burden of public service and the integrity required in leadership.

As Idris Olakunle Bello of Emiralty Africa noted, the vision is to show that every scar carries the potential for a brilliant shine when viewed through the right lens. Starting at 10:00 AM, this maiden edition of Emiralty Connect represents a movement to bridge the gap between private toil and public triumph, making it a must-attend for any creative or entrepreneur looking to turn their passion into a permanent power.
