The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has reportedly passed on to the great beyond.
According to a reliable source, within the palace, the monarch passes away yesterday after a brief illness.
Though, palace of Owa Obokun has not issued any official statement as regards the passing of the monarch, but sources within the palace confirmed the death.
“Baba has passed, but we are waiting for officials announcement from the palace.
“You can see that they have started performing some traditional rites. This has to be done before any announcement can be made, she added.
It was gathered that the Palace observed presence of security personnel around its premises.
“Some traditional rites are normally follow the demise of a king are being carried out.” said the source.
The monarch reigned for over 40 years.
