Ineptitude Can Ruin Great Visions!

You all recall my yesterday article titled “Another Blunder on Coastal Highway” right?? Read it here

Landmark Beach Resorts was amongst the affected structures demolished on Lagos Coastal Area.

Now, information reaching us says, Landmark Beach has signed a new deal with Gambia Government to restart a new Beach front Resort in their country!! What an economic loss!

Landmark Beach was one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Lagos that had been contributing immensely to the tourism sector in Nigeria, in the last six years!

But here, our government continues to destroy the lofty ideas and dreams of business owners due to their lack of foresight, greed and ineptitude.

Imagine, after destroying thriving landmark Beach, the Federal Government now realized it was all a mistake????- Lack of foresight and ineptitude

So do they expect the owners of those affected beach resorts to risk it all over again?? Never!

No sane person would dare such a dicey venture again.

The only error I saw in Landmark resorts owner’s decision was, he ought to have explored other coastal areas in Nigeria instead of opting out by chosing Gambia and other West African countries over his country.

Nigerian States such as Ondo State, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, amongst others all have potential beaches for tourism.

I bet not many people are aware these States share some coastal strip on the Gulf of Guinea.

More so, to some people, the demolition of landmark Beach had some political undertones. As they felt some group of persons were envious of the growth landmark resorts had witnessed, within a short period of time.

But from the look of things, he has completely lost trust in the system. Hence, his decision to explore other countries on the West African Coast.

My grouse is, the number of multinational companies and private owned businesses that have exited NIGERIA in the last 18 months has just increased by a figure.

Consequently, the percentage of unemployment will continue to jack up, if nothing is done to reverse the trend.
