Death of #Deborah: HATE OR BLASPHEMY?

Taking an innocent life under the guise of BLASPHEMY may seem right to the perpetrators but it can never be right before God and even under the law governing the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That is all shade of wrong!

The gruesome killing of Deborah, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education is yet another case of jungle justice perpetrated with impunity in broadlight earlier today as though there were no Security Operatives such as Police and Civil defence as well as other law enforcement agencies that could intervene and rescue the poor girl.

Why is it that whenever there is religion related issues, our security agencies are always indifferent or simply put, docile?

The last time I checked, Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (As amended) forbids jungle justice of any sort be it religious or criminal based.

So why should any security look away or fold arms and watch mob gruesomely murdered a student whom by Constitutional rights ought to be the either State or Federal government property?

Are our Police tired of defending their primary mandate – which is protecting the lives and properties?

God! a whole lot is really missing in our security architecture as a nation!. And it’s really disheartening that this has been a major challenge bedeviliing this administration.

This wicked act is an indication that Nigerian society are gradually moving towards hate triggered by ethnicity and religion with anarchy and if nothing is done to get justice for this poor girl then we are all sitting on a keg of gun powder. It’s only a matter of time that everything will explode.

Selah.
