IHS (Nigeria), UNICEF to deliver Test Kits to NCDC to aid emergency response to COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria

UNICEF Nigeria has concluded plans to support Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) with provisions of test kits, an initiative that was funded by IHS Towers as part of its contribution to COVID-19 pandemic prevention in Nigeria in an event scheduled to hold on Tuesday 29th September 2020.

The event which has been set to hold at National Reference Laboratory of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Gaduwa Junction, Abuja, is a part of the efforts toward addressing the COVID-19 pandemic emergency in Nigeria, IHS Towers in Nigeria supported UNICEF with donations of 107,000 COVID-19 test kits and 8,800 GenXpert tests.

Since May 2019, IHS Towers has supported UNICEF to implement community led initiatives in 15 states of Nigeria to find solutions to the pertinent issues affecting the lives of children and women. Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Nigeria, IHS Towers has twice extended financial support to UNICEF to facilitate provision of essential equipment and test kits crucial in the response to curb the coronavirus infections.

This makes IHS Towers, the biggest private sector contributor in Nigeria for UNICEF Nigeria support to COVID-19 response.

Special Guests scheduled to grace this occasion are Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, Director General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC); Muhamad Darwish, Chief Executive Officer, IHS Nigeria Limited; Ms. Rushnan Murtaza, UNICEF Representative a.i in Nigeria; Dr Sanjana Bhardwaj, Chief of Health and HIV, UNICEF Nigeria;
