A former deputy governor and a leading aspirant in the forthcoming September 22nd governorship election in Osun state, Sen. Dr. Iyiola Omisore has charged all and sundry to continue to make sacrifices and render services of love, hope, service and prayers for a new dawn in the life and destiny of Nigeria and its citizens.
Recounting the ordeals of Nigerians, Omisore observed that June the 12th of every year is the beacon of hope for all Nigerians, that sanity would be brought back to governance, leadership and service, sooner than later.
Without doubt, June 12 is one of the best unifying factors and an impetus to unprecedented development Nigeria, as the indelible footprints of its symbol, Bashorun MKO Abiola remains one of the cardinal pillars that holds Nigeria’s democracy firmly together.
The coast is getting clearer day after day, that Social Democratic Party (SDP), a political platform wherein the hero of Nigeria’s democracy contested and convincingly won, remains the beehive of progress and accelerated promotion from obscurity to limelight, stagnation to positive fruitfulness, development and prosperity that leaves no one behind for all in Nigeria.
It is expedient to note that truth is constantly unyielding, despite deliberate attempts to twist, forsake or deny it, nothing changes the truth. Hence the recognition and acceptance of today as the true Democracy Day, is but a virtue of necessity.
To better our society is a collective responsibility in a selfless, resilient, dogged, clear and competent move to rescue ourselves from all sorts of leadership of exploitation, oppression and misappropriation which are antithetical to democracy that encompasses all tenets of constitutionalism and rule of law.
Henceforth, in our political and socio-economic landscape, we must relentlessly join hands to fight off capital flight, opportunism and godfatherism to embrace true democratic ethos for our fulfillment and prosperity of posterity yet unborn.
