ACC Committee Visit and display Commitment to the IDPs in Abuja

The Abuja Charity Carnival (ACC) Committee on Saturday 3rd September visited the IDPs in Kuchingoro camp, one of the Suburbs of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This visit was made possible with the support and efforts of Mrs. Charity and Mrs. Folashade, President of Paulash Community Development Initiative in Abuja, an organization that has shown unwavering compassion and concerns to the needs of the IDPs in Abuja.

While addressing the ACC committee, on the 27th August 2016 at the Greenland Garden, Mrs Folashade, suggested a collaborative visit to one of the IDP camps so as to ascertain the current living conditions of these IDPs and donate supplies and other items which they might need to keep body and souls together while they prepare for the forthcoming Carnival and Concert specifically tailored for them in the coming weeks.

Mr. Jakins, ACC Team Lead, spoke with the IDP President at the camp, Mr. Emmanuel Philemon who narrated in Hausa, sharing with the ACC committee their ordeals before they arrived the camp and challenges they face on daily basis being IDPs in Abuja.

“I was in school preparing for my project defence in 2013 when I came home and discovered that my family of eight were all dead. But one thing I know is that God preserves one who has a purpose to fulfill here on earth” Enoch affirmed.

Enoch also took the ACC members round the camp and showed them the woman who had just put to birth previous night before the viist.

He said that the baby is affected by tetanus due to lack of antenatal and post natal care as well as medical attention.

Enoch also pleaded to the ACC members to encourage well meaning Nigerians to support the camp because they often feel abandoned. The ACC committee afterwards donated supplies to the IDP children on the camp.
