Still in the spirit of showing love and uplifting the indigent in our society, Project Support A Camp has taken a step further in its quest to giving hope to the hopeless, but this time beyond Federal Capital Territory environs to Gwarinpa-Madalla Community in Niger State. This is in collaboration with Kapital FM Abuja and SOTERIA Africa, a Medical Outfit.
“Support A Camp team is doing everything humanly possible to extend love and care not to the Internally Displaced Persons alone but the needy, the less privileged, the sick/bedridden ones, downtrodden as well as People With Disabilities (PWD) living amongst us, said Phil Roberts, Support A Camp, Team Lead.
He further stated that we have realised that there are significant number of Nigerians whose living conditions are even worse than that of the IDPs, this is one of the ways we can reach out to them and touch their lives. It would encourage other well meaning Nigerians out there to also come to their aid.
Primary school kids and their teachers within Gwarinpa-Madalla Community in Niger State were very excited and expressed their gratitude realising the magnitude of kind gesture extended towards them by Support A Camp Team, Kapital FM and SOTERIA Africa, who also came with drugs and medical facilities for instant medical check ups and treatment for old/elderly men and women in the community.
Mrs Mercy Njoku, General Manager, Kapital FM while speaking to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) correspondents during the Madalla visit said, “this is one noble cause that Kapital FM has taken as its tradition for years”. She posited that, we believe in uplifting and reaching out to the downtrodden, less privileged, widows and orphans who live amongst us, and touching their lives in one way or the other should be one assignment every well meaning Nigerian should take seriously, because these people wish they are better off too.
The Village Head, Gwarinpa-Madalla Community, Alhaji Abdulahhi Yakubu expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture towards his community. “Here in Gwarinpa-Madalla, we need government to come to our aid, particularly in the aspect of Education for our children, you can see there is no proper toilet in this school, no good road network too” he explained.
During the Medical Check up for the elderly men and women in the community, Dr Telemoh, an obstetrician said “these people need urgent medical attention which ordinarily they cannot afford, hence tbey become weak and incapacitated which might result to death if no ones cares for them”.
