The Executive Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Bago has announced that the state achieved an Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) of N3.5 billion in May, 2024 alone.
Mr. Bago made this statement on Wednesday in Suleja, Niger, during the 155th Joint Task Board meeting. The meeting focused on the theme of “Post Reform: Enhancing Revenue Authorities for Optimal Tax Management.”
He emphasized his administration’s dedication to promoting cooperation with JTB in exchanging ideas and skills.
He said, “Between January and May this year, we collected an average of N2.621 billion monthly, as against an average of N1.806 billion monthly the previous year.
“In the month of May alone, we generated N3.508 billion, representing an increase of 45 per cent.
“This growth has not only enabled us to expand infrastructure projects but also, to enhance social service delivery across various sectors, thereby improving the quality of life for our citizens,’’ Bago stated.
