EEE Initiative Honours Popular Digital Media Guru, Dotun Roy, Eight Others at International Peace Summit 2026

ABUJA — The Engage, Empower, and Educate Initiative (EEEI) has honoured prominent digital media strategist Oladotun Fadeyiye Roy, popularly known as Dotun Roy who’s the founder of Dotunroy.com and JobkonnectNaija alongside eight other digital creators at the Social Media for Social Good Awards 3.0.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of the two-day 2026 International Peace Summit held in Abuja to commemorate International Peace Day. Organized by EEEI—the convener of the African Women Summit—the awards spotlight individuals utilizing digital platforms to advance sustainable peacebuilding and community advocacy.

Speaking on the rationale behind the honours, event convener Belema Meshack-Hart noted that recognizing constructive digital voices has become vital in countering online toxicity and polarization.

“The world is now a global village, and through social media platforms, people access information on the go,” Meshack-Hart said. “This information can either promote peace or incite violence. Through this initiative, we are encouraging more digital creators to deploy their reach toward stability, dialogue, and peacebuilding rather than division.”

Roy, one of the Awardees, commended the organizers while receiving his plaque, emphasizing the role institutional recognition plays in shifting digital culture.

“If more organizations take deliberate steps like EEEI has done, peacebuilding advocacy across digital platforms will become second nature for everyday users,” Roy said.

The summit closed with calls for tech platforms, civil society groups, and media practitioners to forge stronger collaborations against hate speech while expanding spaces for civic education across the continent.
