READ: Are You Still Turning Off Read Receipts On Your Whattapp?

By Oladotun F. Roy

Are you still in the habit of turning off your read Receipts On your Whattapp app? You might be losing out on a lot of opportunities around you, if you don’t stop.

I recall I have written severally about the turn-offs and inherent danger in removing the blue tick feature on Whatsapp messenger.

Now borrow me your eyes and ears and read this. Turning off WhatsApp receipts would do more harm to you than those you are avoiding.

Because one of the things people now consider before doing business with people these days, is checking whether the person they want to deal business with has his or her blue tick on Whatsapp on or off.

And Yes, it has become a critical part of integrity and true character check for business connection and deals.

Some people wouldn’t even stop at turning off their read receipts only, they would go further to activate the disappearing messages.

All these are just the extremities that raise suspicion and concerns into the true character of whoever does them.

Moreso, going that far with just Whattapp messages certainly suggests that such a person has strained relationships with quite a number of people on his contact lists which possibly include his or her past business partners leading to the avoidance of either conversation on Whatsapp or further confrontations.

Recently, I had a conversation with a colleague about this, and he shared his experiences with a job applicant seeking employment with him who had turned off his read receipts.

The poor dude was the only qualified candidate for the job but the only thing that stood against him was the turning off receipts on his Whattapp.

And upon discovery of this when the interview invite was sent to him, he just told him later that same day that the interview has been postponed.

According to my Colleague, such an act certainly raises questions into the character of such an applicant. Which may pose a serious danger to his brand. He said he couldn’t handle such a drama in his business.

That was how this applicant lost an opportunity that could change his life forever.

And I tell you what, 88 percent of those who turn off their receipts always have something sinister up their sleeves. They might be nice in real life but still have some nasty nature of just avoiding others for some reasons best known to them.

So learn and do the right thing!
