#Christmas2024: Aisha Achimugu Foundation Shares Monetary Gifts, Food Items to Kabusa Community, FCT

The Aisha Achimugu Foundation lit up the lives of residents in Kabusa, Abuja, with its annual Christmas outreach, distributing food items and monetary gifts to over 700 less-privileged individuals. The event, a beacon of hope for widows, people with disabilities, the elderly, and vulnerable groups – Women, Orphans and Vulnerable children) exemplified the spirit of giving during a time of widespread economic hardship.

Kiema Ogunlana, the Program Director of the foundation, emphasized the importance of the initiative, saying, “This is more than charity—it’s about spreading hope and joy. Our Founder and President, Dr. Aisha Achimugu OFR, has made it her mission to uplift lives, and today is a testament to her unwavering commitment.”

The event also marked a significant milestone: the transition of the foundation’s name from Sam Empowerment Foundation (SEF) to Aisha Achimugu Foundation, signaling a new chapter in its impactful journey.

In 2024 alone, the foundation touched the lives of over 65,000 Nigerians through diverse initiatives, including community health campaigns, infrastructure development, empowerment programs, and educational support.

Vera Idi, Director of Finance, Administration, and Policy Governance at Felak Group, highlighted the selection of Kabusa for the outreach, stating, “This community represents the many underserved areas in Nigeria. Our aim is to shine a light where it’s needed most, bridging gaps where government intervention is scarce.”

The event was not just about giving—it was a celebration. Over 500 children enjoyed games and activities, with many, like 13-year-old Angela Michael, leaving with smiles and gifts from Santa. “God bless them and give them long life and prosperity,” she said with joy.

The Hakimi of Kabusa expressed deep gratitude, acknowledging the foundation’s impact: “This initiative eases the burden of countless families. They have built a bond with our community, and we will always hold them in our prayers.”

As the foundation wraps up its activities for the year, it sets its sights on Niger State for a similar outreach, promising more transformative interventions in the year ahead.

With compassion as its cornerstone, the Aisha Achimugu Foundation continues to redefine the true meaning of Christmas—bringing joy and hope to those who need it most.
