House of Reps set to Investigate the Approval of Airstrip at Canaanland

The House of Representatives to investigate the recently approved construction of an airstrip at Canaanland, the headquarters of Living Faith Church, as authorized by the Minister of Aviation.

They have expressed concerns that allowing private entities to establish airstrips may facilitate the illegal importation of firearms and hard drugs into the country, which could exacerbate issues related to insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping.

In the motion presented by the Honorable Sulaiman Abubakar Mahmud Gummi, it is requested that the House urges the Minister of Aviation to cease the issuance of airstrip licenses to private individuals.

Additionally, the motion calls for the withdrawal of any licenses that have already been granted to private entities and organizations.
