Daar Communications Plc, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower, has sacked directors who have spent 10 years and above in executive positions.
According a reliable source, the move came as a surprise to staff of the company.
Among those affected are Tony Akiotu, Tosin Dokpesi, Ambrose Somide, Paulyn Ugbodaga and Tony Uyah.
“About 11 directors that have spent 10 years and above have been told their services are no longer needed. One of them is Tosin Dokpesi who is the widow of our founder and chairman Chief Raymond Dokpesi,” a worker who did not want their name disclosed told QEDNG.
Daar Communications founder Raymond Dokpesi died on May 29, 2023.
His son Raymond Dokpesi Jr has been chairman since 2019.
The company posted a loss of N1.6 billion for the year ended December 31, 2023.
