The major political parties in Guinea Bissau, including President Sissocó Embaló’s party have formed alliance with an intention to oust the incumbent President, Sissocó Embaló.

These main political parties, according to an official statement, came together with a mission to defend democracy and force the President of the Republic to respect laws and human rights.

In an official statement signed and issued on August 12th at a summit in Lisbon by this Alliance states that the Joint Political Declaration and Forum for the Salvation of Democracy decides that:

“the President of the Republic to refrain from all acts of interference in the internal affairs of all political parties either directly or through third parties Influences or the instrumentalisation of Militants” amongst other decisions.

Currently, there are reports of political tension in Guinea Bissau based on the above decision by this democratic alliance.
