The Senate has passed the N6.2 Trillion Appropriation Amendment Bill for its second reading.

Senator Michael Bamidele Opeyemi has proposed a revised bill that designates N3.2 trillion for capital expenses and N3 trillion for ongoing expenses, which must be utilized by the conclusion of 2024.

During the plenary session on Wednesday, Senator Adamu Aliero, who serves as the representative for Kebbi South, voiced his approval for the amendment. He mentioned that it is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda and will provide funding for important projects that were not included in the original Act.

He emphasized the importance of swiftly passing the bill to prevent strikes and to engage in discussions regarding the minimum wage with labour.
