FCDA: How Nepotism, Cartel of Directors Are Destroying the Essence of Development in FCT!

A group of Concerned Citizens of Nigeria has called on the renewed hope administration, most importantly, the current Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike to rescue Federal Capital Development Agency (FCDA) from the grip of certain Cartel of Directors within the agency who have continued to use nepotism, favouritism, tribalistic ideation and religious bigotry to destabilize the essence of the government establishment and by extension FCT.

“There are cronies of Directors within the FCDA who have vowed never to retire from their positions of Directors due to their hideous and shady activities they do since they got promoted to their various offices” said a concerned resident of FCT and Landowner who opted to be anonymous.

He added that these Directors have held ‘hostage’ key Departments in FCDA such as Department of Survey and Mapping, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, as well as Department that oversees Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).

“They are notorious for land grabbing, alteration and falsification of Land Survey Layout within the FCT in favour of their families, friends, Political godfathers to mention but few.” he said.

Investigations conducted shown that these cronies of Directors have their satanic influence cut across all the nine Departments of the FCDA which comprise:

  1. Finance and Administration
  2. Urban and Regional Planning
  3. Engineering Services
  4. Resettlement and Compensation
  5. Public Building
  6. Surveying and Mapping Units
  7. Mass Housing
  8. Satellite Town Infrastructure
  9. Procurement

According to another reliable source who spoke to our investigation team, “These cronies of Directors are heading different Departments and using their influence to grab land, frustrate the original landowners to the point of incarceration for instance, landowners who dare to challenge their authority.

“They have also refused to retire after serving as substantive Directors for many years. Creating ethnic divisions and frustrating the FCDA from moving forward.”

“For instance, a certain Director of Survey and mapping, has refused to retire after serving as the substantive Director of Survey for 8 years.”

“He has refused to collect his letter of retirement, but instead he is making moves with some corrupt politicians to create a new office for him THE OFFICE OF THE SURVEYOR GENERAL OF FCT for him, so that he will be able have absolute control over the land in the FCT as well as cover all their dirty tracks”

“This particular director have also refused to surrender the key to his office for the next successor to take over from where his stopped due to his shady and ungodly activities in the agency”.

“Another information reaching us is that, he has illegally promoted his brother, in the same Department above his seniors in the Department, in order to ensure that he takes over the office of the Director of Survey and Mapping in case the FCT Minister refuses to appoint him as the SURVEYOR GENERAL OF FCT.” said another Land grabbing victim.

During our investigation, several insider sources informed us that he has taken his case to the Secretary General Federal for approval and that it’s likely to happen anytime soon.

It was discovered that all of the substantive Directors (members of the cartel) are fighting so hard to retain their offices in all the Departments just to continue their corruption and nepotism.

This is in spite of the fact that all these Directors served throughout the past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, but only working for themselves, and still want to continue the same sordid activities and rot under the RENEWED HOPE ADMINISTRATION.

Therefore, the group of Concerned Citizens within the Federal Capital Territory urge the current renewed hope administration to step into this matter by ensuring that the appropriate action is taken to reverse this ugly trend and restore sanity back to one of the most critical Agencies of the Federal Capital Territory.
