In all of these Mobahd’s saga, I think Mobahd’s absentee Mother who’s now reaping where she had only sparingly sown, aside from the fact that she carried him for 9months and breastfed him, should also be ‘dragged’ into this matter.
I make bold to say, her absence in Mobahd’s life while growing up negatively impacted his life decisions and so many other things he wouldn’t have ventured into aside from doing music that gave him this popularity.
Report has it that she ditched the little Mobahd when he was barely four years with his little sister. Leaving all the burden of raising them to their poor father, whom could barely survive with the little income he earned through carpentry bussiness at that time. The bussiness we later learnt he taught Mobahd when he quit his Polytechnic education.
Today, the same Mobahd’s absentee mother enjoys the sweat of the Mobahd’s father. She is the one enjoying the cozy appartment bought by Mohbad in Lekki while the father still lives and wallow in poverty in one of the Slums in Lagos.
The question now is, why, as a society, we often heap blames on fathers and mothers are spared especially when things go wrong with the family. Especially, when it is obvious that these mothers were the main culprits of the whole saga.
As a mother, abandoning your children at their tender age would really tell the kind of mother you are.
A compassionate mother would fight with all her might to have the custody of her children and not wait until they are grown and start making money before she remembers she gave birth to children.
A kind mother will endure all the sufferings in her marriage just to be there for her children but in her case, she bolted out. Perhaps with another man whom eventually dumped her too.
Motherly roles in the life of a child can never be overemphasized. It is very critical to how a child turns out in the future.
No matter how we want to look at this, she is the one that truly failed Mobahd in all of these and not the poor father who had fought tooth and nail to see Mobahd and her sister become somebody in life.
Let’s cut Mohbad’s father some slack please. He did his best.
Selah.
