A Glimpse into the Tech Ecosystem: An Interview with Joshua Makinde

Currently serving as the co-founder and Product Development Director at Capsule Business Technology, Joshua’s expertise and visionary leadership have propelled the company to new heights.

Reporter: Good day, readers. Today, we have the privilege of sitting down with Mr. Joshua Makinde, a prominent figure in the tech ecosystem, to discuss his impactful contributions, leadership, and innovative endeavors. Thank you for joining us, Mr. Makinde.

Joshua Makinde : Thank you for having me. It’s a pleasure to be here.

Reporter: Let’s dive right in. You’ve been a frequent speaker at various tech events, including the recent Omega Pro Annual General Meeting in 2023. Can you share a bit about your involvement in these events and the topics you typically cover?

Joshua Makinde: Absolutely. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of speaking at numerous events, both locally and internationally. At Omega Pro’s AGM in 2023, I had the opportunity to discuss topics ranging from product development and management to innovation and user experience enhancement. These events serve as platforms for knowledge sharing and networking within the tech community.

Reporter: Your leadership and innovation have made a significant impact on the tech ecosystem in Nigeria. Could you elaborate on how your initiatives have influenced the industry?

Joshua Makinde : One of the key areas where I’ve focused my efforts is in leadership development and mentorship. Through various channels, including speaking engagements and mentorship programs like Girls in ICT, I’ve been able to empower and inspire the next generation of tech leaders. By sharing my experiences and insights, I hope to contribute to the growth and success of the tech ecosystem in Nigeria and beyond.

Reporter: Speaking of mentorship, could you tell us more about your involvement in Girls in ICT and the impact it’s had on the participants?

Joshua Makinde : Girls in ICT is an annual mentorship program aimed at empowering young girls to pursue careers in technology. As a mentor, I’ve had the privilege of guiding and supporting these bright young minds, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the tech industry. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their growth and accomplishments over time.

Reporter: Lastly, let’s touch on the recent Omega Pro event and your speaking engagements. What are your key takeaways from these experiences, and how do you envision them shaping the future of the tech ecosystem?

Joshua Makinde : The Omega Pro event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders, share insights, and collaborate on innovative solutions. My key takeaway is the importance of collaboration and continuous learning in driving progress and innovation within the tech ecosystem. Moving forward, I believe that by working together and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity, we can create a brighter future for the tech industry in Nigeria and beyond.
