The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Diaspora has congratulated Nigeria as she marks 59th independence anniversary which holds on October 1 of every year.

In a Press statement released early hour of today, 1st of October 2019, the party’s Chairperson UK Chapter, Lady Edith Nwachukwu in celebrating this year’s anniversary urged young Nigerians, professionals, women etc to join the SDP so as to collectively move Nigeria out of the woods.

Read the Press Statement below:

Our party, The Social Democratic Party, SDP, UK chapter, celebrates with other political Institutions to marks another day to celebrate Nigeria at 59.

However, the leadership of our party has also seen need for the present APC led government to focus on key areas we have got it completely wrong in the last 59 years ago. Which has plunged us into this deplorable infrastructural decay across the Nigeria’s space. It is shameful that in spite of our inestimable resources, citizens still grapple in the dark. While other nations are match ahead in the race for economic growth and developments, which positively affects the lives of their citizens, ours is embattled with kidnapping, banditry, corruption, defying court orders, wrong economic policies, nepotism, herdsmen/farmers unending feud, mistrust and mediocrity on the nation. There is therefore an urgent needs to build up an alternative value chain driven party that can move the nation forward.

Our party, SDP has been found to be an ideological progressive and national party that can rally Nigerians for unity and national reconstruction. The leadership of SDP will give Nigeria a viable and credible political platform for effective social mobilization and nation building. This is a clarion call on the 59th Independence Day celebrations. We urge the youths, women, workers, professionals and all yearning for a great new Nigeria to join SDP, mobilize Nigerians to be on the march again to excellence and greatness. Together, we shall make Nigeria a blessing to Africa and the rest of the World. Nigeria will be great again

Happy 59th Independence Day.

God bless us All!
Lady Edith Nwachukwu
Chairperson
SDP UK Chapter
