Today signifies another memorable and eventful period in the history of our existence as a people, nation and an independent entity. Nigeria has come a long way; 57 years of national trials, economic upturn, security challenges, and above all progress, progress and progress.
On behalf of the over 75 million Youths and young people in our dear country, I heartily rejoice with Nigeria and Nigerians on this occasion of the 57th Independence Anniversary. As youths, we should be passionately committed to the progress of our dear Nation. I therefore implore all Youths and Nigerians alike that the progress of our dear country cannot be achieved without absolute commitment towards establishing unity and peaceful co-existence amongst all regardless of our religious beliefs, tribal inclinations, regional differences and ideological disconnect.
Nigeria is undoubtedly a richly blessed nation. It is the pride of the black race and an enviable stake amongst the comity of nations. As Nigerian Youths, who make the majority and most active of its population, we have a critical role to play towards sustaining peace, security and Unity across the country.
Indeed, the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.
Without mixing words, I sincerely appreciate our dear father and role-model, the commander-in-chief of Armed Forces of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) for the candid, successful and pragmatic approach used towards establishing sustainable Peace and Unity in our dear country, Nigeria.
I equally thank our Armed Forces for their tireless efforts and unequaled sacrifice towards actualizing the goal of a Peaceful, Secured and United Nigeria.
Notably, in corroborating the policy and efforts of the Federal Government and our Armed Forces at sustaining peace in the country, we at NYCN had recently embarked on Peace Tour to some selected Six States within the last two months wherein we sensitized our teeming Youths across board and also met with traditional rulers, Youth Leaders and some State Governors. We also organized a Peace Walk in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in collaboration with some Nollywood Actors; Kenneth Okonkwo, Tonto Dikeh and Sanni Danja, all towards instilling the virtues of Peace and Unity in the minds of Nigerian Youths. Soonest, we shall bring the message of unity, peace and One Nigeria to all doorsteps.
Consequently, as the umbrella body of all Youths and Youth organizations in Nigeria, we bring to all our Executive, Legislative and Judicial arms of Government a message of hope, progress and tranquilitythat “Nigeria is great and can only be GREATER”
To all Nigerians, we preach patience, perseverance and implore all to be dedicated and unconditionally committed towards sustaining our common values, historical feats during the 57 years sojourn and Unity of our dear fatherland, Nigeria.
Once again, I bring to all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora esteemed regards and best wishes of the entire Nigerian Youths at this memorable occasion of our 57th independence anniversary.
