We Break the News

It is no longer news that the much awaited portal of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) http://tonyelumelufoundation.org/teep/  has opened and is accepting applications for the 2016 TEEP exercise. The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme is an initiative of the Tony Elumelu Foundation geared towards building about 10,000 African entrepreneurs over a period of 10 years starting from 2014.
In 2014, TEEP awarded 1,000 African entrepreneurs with $5,000 dollars in grants and $5,000 in loan facility to start or expand their businesses. The awardees were drawn from the 54 countries of Africa. Many of these awardees, two of whom I have personal relationship with have started out on their plans and are performing wonderfully.

You are encouraged to apply, so that you could make that innovative business idea of yours a reality. For as its motto, Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme says that “Your Ideas Can Transform Africa”

Just visit TEEP websitehttp://tonyelumelufoundation.org/teep/ , click on Apply Now! You will be given an option to sign up. If you don’t have an account with TEEP, you will be required to sign up. You can sign up with Facebook or LinkedIn if you have these social network accounts (I personally recommend that you have them). The portal will automatically request to use your details on these accounts to set up your TEEP account. Click to allow! However, if you already have an account with TEEP, then just login using your login details. Again, you can login using your Facebook or LinkedIn account.

When you are logged in, you will have a form to fill in your personal details and ultimately apply for the TEEP 2016. Please note that reading every instruction all through the application process is very important to ensure that you are on track. This is because the programme is very competitive and failure to abide by instructions means total disqualification. You wouldn’t want that to happen!

Again, multiple applications attract instant disqualification, so desist from such! You will be required to have and indeed upload a valid identification, that is: a national ID card, a driver’s license or an international passport to apply. Other documents needed for the application process will be made known to you as you progress in the application.

Also note that you can stop the application at any time and continue from there later. However, you must complete and submit your application to TEEP latest March 1st, 2016. Failure to meet this deadline will result in automatic disqualification.

Please note equally that going by last year’s process and the testimonies of last year’s awardees, the secret to a successful application is compliance to application instructions and presentation of a DISRUPTIVELY INNOVATIVE business idea. The Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme is looking out for ideas that can and will transform the African continent. Please make yours one. How does your business stand out of the crowd and how will it expand employment and wealth creation opportunities in Africa? Please lay emphasis on these and you are sure to go home with the $10,000 dollar package.

Application Deadline is March 1, 2016

Good luck!
