Today, being 20th November has been set aside globally as Universal Children’s Day. This special day is a day to honour children across the world. Universal Children’s Day is to be observed as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children.

Since 1954, United Nations Assembly had recommended that the Day be observed also as a day of activity devoted to promoting the ideals and objectives of the Charter and the welfare of the children of the world.

According to Dayo Akindolani, Executive Director, TZE Foundation, it is imperative to understand that these children are the future of this great nation, being a Global Youth Ambassador for A World at School project, I and my colleagues have deemed it necessary to visit the children in the Internal Displaced Persons Camps within Abuja with educational materials such as textbooks, notebooks, pen, waterbottles, clothing materials among others these are basic necessities for these children now.

“it is our duty to extend love to one another particularly those children who are at disadvantaged having gone through trauma of being displaced as a result of insurgency in the North east, some of these kids need early education so as to grow with sense of belonging” said Ijeoma Oforka, Public Health Expert who is also World at School Ambassador.
