#ONECampaign: Tell European leaders to #DoWhatsRight

Dear DOTUN,

World leaders are about to decide how much they will spend on tackling global poverty over the next 15 years. This will have a huge impact on the lives of millions of people living in the poorest countries.

Thanks to actions by ONE members like you, European ministers just re-confirmed a long-held promise to spend 0.7% of national budgets on aid. That’s great news, but as well as investing enough in fighting poverty, it’s also crucial that it reaches the right people.

European leaders must make sure at least half of aid is going to the very poorest countries, and that girls and women are prioritised in all their plans.

Send a tweet to European leaders now and tell them to #DoWhatsRight.

These big global meetings happen behind closed doors and often out of the media spotlight, so it’s easy for our representatives to feel like no-one’s paying attention. That’s where you come in.

We need them to feel the pressure of tens of thousands of people, like you, who are counting on them to do the right thing. Who will hold them to account for their actions, and keep pushing until we get real progress for the poorest people in the world. When they walk into those meetings, make sure your voice is ringing in their ears.

Send them a message now.

Thank you,

Saira O’Mallie, ONE.org
