I got another letter from Top Nollywood Actress Omotola Jalade, Campaign Ambassador for Poverty is Sexist, a campaign aimed at empowering women all over the world launched early this year by #ONECampaign
Read the Letter below
Dear DOTUN,
Something exciting is happening on social media. All around the world, thousands of people have been posting ‘strengthies’ in solidarity #WithStrongGirls everywhere, tagging the strong women in their own lives to spread the message.
Artists including Waje, Judith Sephuma, D’Banj and Ice Prince have posted theirs – will you join us and add yours too?
You have already signed our Poverty is Sexist petition calling on African leaders to deliver real change for girls and women – thank you. More than 600,000 people around the world have done the same, including more than 400,000 across Africa, so we’re already really hard to ignore.
Now we need leaders to see the people who are demanding change.
Post your photo, and we’ll deliver it to African leaders when they meet for the African Union Summit in South Africa this week. We’ll make sure they know that Poverty is Sexist, we refuse to accept it, and we expect them to act.
Join the global surge of solidarity, post your photo and stand #WithStrongGirls now.
Thank you,
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Actress and Poverty Is Sexist Campaign Ambassador.
