The Global Action Week (GAW) is an annual global campaign of education campaigners and advocates across the global. The week is usually celebrated every April to raise voices on education issues and task government and other stakeholders to ensure access to quality education for all.
This year GAW with the theme – Vote for Education presents us with a crucial opportunity to demand the realization of the right to education for all, and to set the direction of education for another generation after the expiration of the MDGs and EFA goals in 2015. In 2000, the world’s leaders made a series of promises intended to guarantee education for all by 2015, including commitments to get every child in school, and to improve adult literacy by 50 percent.
As we reach the deadline, it is clear that these promises will not be met. As education activists, we have an urgent duty to uncover lessons about what has and what has not worked, to hold politicians accountable for both progress and failings, and to demand that these promises are honoured.
And for us in Nigerian, looking at the new political administration that will come into power in 29th May 2015, this campaign gives us the opportunity to assess not only the country’s progress and challenges towards achieving the MDGs 2 and EFA goals but also presenting our demands in regards to education from the incoming administration.
In recognition of your role as a stakeholder in the education sector you are hereby invited to this year GAW celebration/ education stakeholders meeting in shaping our demands for the incoming political administration.

Hey! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after checking through some of the post I realized it’s new to me.
Anyhow, I’m definitely delighted I found it and I’ll be book-marking and
