Uzabe, specifically built for timely, concise reporting and information gathering and analysis; for the promotion of transparency and accountability in voting and electoral process as well as the improvement of citizens’ involvement in decision making particularly as regards to choosing the right leadership for themselves while Nigeria decides who is the next qualified Nigerians to take over the coveted seats in the Aso Rock and states governor houses.
“Uzabe” a crowdmap is an innovation of Connected Development (CODE) in Hausa with literal translation ‘You Vote in English has not only proven to be the ‘wonder’ that all Nigerians need to keep abreast the happenings at various polling booth during the just concluded Presidential election, it has also helped improved the citizens’ orientation and participation by playing observatory role during the last Presidential election which has so far been adjudged free and fair and devoid any form of violence or crisis by the international communities.
This has drawn the attention of various local and international media seeking to be updated on what, where and how electoral activities are carried out in the last Presidential election in Nigeria. Knowing fully well that not only would Uzabe help them improve the quality of information they share through their various reportage but also facilitate the collation of necessary data and statistics to substantiate their reportage.
International media such Radio France International and France Blastingnews have been excellent in their reporting, granting Connected Development Team interview on uzabe and seeking more updates on what it has to offer 2015 General Election Nigeria.
