BEN200 Fans Club Unveils "Buckle My Shoe Project" in #Abuja

Celebrities and media personalities across Nigeria convened at Korean Cultural Centre as the BEN200 Fans Club unveiled “Buckle My Shoe Project” in Abuja today 10 March 2015.

The project which is aimed at the distributing free school sandals to elementary and secondary school kids was conceived and brought to actualisation by Benjamin Ubiri, On Air Personality, Nigerian Info Abuja to mark his 364 Days as a Radio Host of popular “Mid-Day Dialogue” on Nigerian Info 95.1 FM Abuja.

According to Ubiri, he said, “Buckle my shoe” is an initiative targeted at the indigent kids particularly those in elementary and secondary who is going through challenges of having access to footwears. He further added that “I woke up one morning and I saw tons of shoes that my kids are no longer needed, so I thought within myself that there are kids out there who might need them, from there on, I started gathering shoes from the church members and friends who were willing to give out the shoes they no longer needed” it is one of the ways I feel I can touch the lives of others particularly the less privileged ones in my immediate society. “This dream is yours and mine, support it and we shall together create beautiful world that we have always desired by making impact in someone’s life, he affirmed

Iyah Odeh, the Head of OAP, Nigerian Info 95.1 FM Abuja, who has been one of the closest colleague of Benjamin Ubiri, while giving the welcome address said the “Buckle My Shoe” project is indeed a laudable and noble development. “Benjamin has always been a warm and compassionate person, I am not surprised that he’s launching a project of this sort to reach out to the less privileged and indigent kids in Abuja and Nigerian society” she added.

Miss Lee, Director, Korean Cultural Centre, gave brilliant remarks supporting such a noble cause. “I feel honored to have beautiful people around for the unveiling of this special project, coming together to also see Korean cultural heritage and values”
