Be part of #2015 Short Film Competition on Water!

Here is an opportunity for you to be heard and seen through your creativity. WaterAid in partnership with WorldView has put together a competition platform for this year’s World water Day. Submit sH2Orts film on ‘What Water means to you’ for World Water Day.

Give us your unique perspective on the theme of water and be in with a chance of winning a film-making masterclass with BAFTA-nominated director Shekhar Kapur and one the latest Fujifilm cameras.

To mark World Water Day, 22 March 2015, we’re asking you to make a short film about what H2O means to you.

We’d like to see an original take – it could be through the lens of thirst or floods, a drama set in a car wash, or a portrait of the man who waters plants in your local park.

This is about your imagination and storytelling skills, not resources – you can make it on your own or with friends or a crew, using your phone, a top-end camera or anything in between. We just want to see your best, creative, quirky or simply beautiful short film… all about water.

Submit your sH2Orts film, no longer than one minute by 20 February 2015 and you could be in with a chance of winning one of five amazing prizes.​

THE RULES

1. Judges will be looking for creative storytelling around the theme of water.

2. Your film must not exceed one minute in duration, but it can be less.

3. Entries to the competition are welcome from 26 November 2014 up until 20 February 2015 at midnight GMT.

4. By entering the competition you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.
   You can submit a film file in .mp4 or .mov format.

5. This competition is open to all regions and nationalities.

6. Your film should include subtitles/dubbing if it is in a language other than English.

7. All films will be reviewed by a panel from WaterAid and WorldView initially and a selection will be showcased online from 2 March 2015.

8. Five winners will be selected from the showcased films. These will be announced on Friday 20 March 2015 ahead of World Water Day on 22 March.

9. There will be an overall winner selected by the panel of judges.

10. One prize will be the ‘People’s Choice’, which will be awarded to the film with the most total views on Vimeo.

11. WaterAid will upload all of the shortlisted films onto Vimeo on 2 March 2015 and will count total views on 20 March 2015 at 17:00 GMT.

12. There will be prizes for three runners-up. These will be chosen by the panel of judges.
    You are responsible for ensuring that you have consent from people featuring in your film and that you have permission of the copyright owner to use any music you select.

13. The film you submit must be your own work.
