As part of the collective effort towards the searching and release of the abducted 200 Chibok Schoolgirls in Borno State, Nigeria, #BringBackOurGirls rally was taken to United Nations Building in New York today in commemoration of 6 months abduction of those schoolgirls. Top US celebrity, Alicia Keys and other female Activists all came out to lend their voices at the rally.

I would like to add that, #BringBackOurGirls rally is a must-go- on fight for everyone on this planet. It is an injustice to humanity that all of us must stand up to put an end to. It’s been six months that these innocent girls had been abducted from their place of learning, nothing has been heard. No one can say in particular what has become of these young souls. Whether they have been killed, maimed, alive or brainwashed so as to continue the terrorist acts, or as female insurgents no information or data of any sort have been made available to the public.

Nigeria security agencies have done and still doing all within their capacity to search out these school girls and destroy the network of Boko Haram insurgent in the West African Countries and beyond. However, we must not give up the fight to release these girls. We must keep raising our voices to save their lives.

One can only imagine, the lots of these kids and whatever these insurgents might have done to them in the last 6 months of abduction. They might have been forced into child-marriage, raped and molested or even put in a family way. Nevertheless, the whole world should keep up the good of lending their voices to save them from the den of peadophiles.

The parents of these children are gradually losing hope of seeing them again. Day in day out, since the abduction, they have waited, longed and looked forward to see their kids return home, for six agonising months without any prospects in sight. How disheartening! Let us not forget that, it could have been any one of us or member of our extended families. Let us keep hoping, keep pressing and lending our voices that Our Girls Must Be Brought Back Home!!!

God bless Nigeria!
